Finally complete

My Chevelle is finally done. It took a long time but it was well worth it. Now it's time to go out and have some fun.

Special thanks to to my family for putting up with all the time and money I spent on the project.

Hot 69

 

Complete engine compartment

The master cylinder is cleaned up and completes the enine compartment. 

New steering wheel

New Billet Specialties steering wheel that matches the design of the wheels. 

New garage

This picture also shows the new garage I built.

Custom license plates

I can't believe that "Hot 69" wasn't already taken. 

Lowered and new suspension

The car is finished. You can see that it has been lowered. The front and rear were dropped about 3.5". I installed an all new Edelbrock rear suspension with and anti-hop kit. New Eiback springs were installed front and rear. A Powertrax positraction kit was also installed.

Sunroof

I had an old style pop-up sunroof installed in 1978. I removed it and installed a new electroinc sunroof that retracts inside the roof and pops up. A sunshade is also installed. You can also see the position of the old style shoulder belts.

Rear seat and headliner

The rear seat, sail panels and headliner are all made from the same material. 

Door panels

The door panels were custom made, but the design follows the original design and seams. Everything is on the panel is hand stitched.

Dash and stero

The dash is custom with all new electronic guages. The pioneer stero system is installed. All speakers are hidden. There are two in the rear deck, two behind the kick panels and a 1000 watt 12" sub woofer in the trunk with a power amp. 

Interior is complete

It's back from the interior shop. Everything is custom made. All of the door panels, seats and dash pad are original except that they are all covered in new material and had stitched. 

Engine compartment complete

Everything is done except for a little detailing work.

All the glass except for the sunroof is installed.

Time to start bolting things on. The body will also get lowered.

The core support is installed with radiator, the doors are on and the right fender is mounted.

Starting the Engine

My daughter Chelsea is helping me start the car for the first time in 23 years. It fired right up with a little distributor adjustment. 

Lots of old parts

Here are a lot of old parts to go through. Some get cleaned up and painted, others get replaced.
