My 1969 Chevelle

When I was 16 I bought my first car, a 1969 Chevelle. I drove it until I graduated from college. Then I parked it in my parents back yard, put a cover on it and left it for several years. That was 24 years ago. On Friday October 28th, 2005 the car was completed and back on the road after a full body-off restoration.

Special thanks to to my family for putting up with all the time and money I spent on the project. Posted by Picasa

The car is finished. You can see that it has been lowered. The front and rear were dropped about 3.5". I installed an all new Edelbrock rear suspension with and anti-hop kit. New Eiback springs were installed front and rear. A Powertrax positraction kit was also installed.Posted by Picasa

Sunroof

I had an old style pop-up sunroof installed in 1978. I removed it and installed a new electroinc sunroof that retracts inside the roof and pops up. A sunshade is also installed. You can also see the position of the old style shoulder belts.

Rear seat and headliner

The rear seat, sail panels and headliner are all made from the same material. Posted by Picasa

The door panels were custom made, but the design follows the original design and seams. Everything is on the panel is hand stitched. Posted by Picasa

Dash and stero

The dash is custom with all new electronic guages. The pioneer stero system is installed. All speakers are hidden. There are two in the rear deck, two behind the kick panels and a 1000 watt 12" sub woofer in the trunk with a power amp. Posted by Picasa
